After the beach this morning I spent some time in Airlie Garden and took some pictures of juvenile white ibis, green herons, and butterflies. Enjoy (I did)!
Great shots!!! Doesn't the ibis in the first photo look like it's smiling? (I believe it was!) I like to enlarge each photo to full screen to view the fine details. The group shot of the birds is wonderful--very natural, capturing their actions like preening, waiting, and yes, smiling. The green heron appears almost vulture-like to me, in it's hunched posture. Beautiful colors! Are the next three shots really also a green heron? Funny how they can make themselves so tall. I particularly love the photo where the bird is stretched out, it's foot a perfect silhouette. Some of the butterflies look like leaves!! Your calendar is filled with such interesting activities! As far as Earl... glad you're safe. (I'd be one of those 100 people on the beach to watch the ocean.) Earl reached us yesterday, providing very strong, very LOUD winds whipping through the trees on what was a beautiful day with abundant sunshine with clouds racing by. The debris left behind when the winds died down came in handy when we lit a campfire in the backyard later Saturday afternoon.
