Back to Wakodahatchee Wetlands
Always eager to see something new I went back to Wakodahatchee Wetlands hoping to see my first woodstork chicks. And I did! I also saw tricolored herons sitting so close to the boardwalk I could look into their nests and count the eggs (all four!). The great egret also had a second egg. The great blue herons were busy catching fish for their chicks. As another treat I saw TWO American bitterns (who have some of the best camouflage in the bird world), a limpkin, a marsh rabbit (in the marsh), a sora, black-necked stilts, alligators, a snake, and so much more. Here are some of my favorite pictures...

These are sensational pictures, Kathy! Some downright amazing! And I love how all the mothers are smiling.
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful how you make the viewer feel as if they are there watching alongside you ( known as a bird's eye view!)
