another busy week

starting with a Snowy Egret with an attitude

I was on TV Thursday as a part of the "dirty dozen" at Airlie Garden... a truckload of azaleas was donated for local gardeners to plant as an early start for the azalea festival in April and I got to help unload the truck...

and for a break in retirement today I helped on an 8th grade field trip at Airlie Gardens from 9am-12pm for 30 students from DC Virgo Middle School then I headed to Calabash, NC for a "meetup" and lunch with the Senior Ladies... on the way home I stopped in Sunset Beach and took some pictures

a parade of Mottled Ducks

a tree FULL of egrets with some doubled-crested cormorants

a ROBIN

Great Blue Heron takes a stand

in the distance I saw these white ibis in the tree

a cute Pied-Billed Grebe

Common Moorhens

I saw TWO alligators on golf courses!

an American Coot

Yellow Rumped Warbler

  1. Absolutely FABULOUS bird shots! The dark background really makes the snowy egret stand out. It thrilled me to see the alligator. How fortunate to capture that image! What was it like to be around 8th graders again? Did it make you long for it wistfully? Silly questions. I'll bet it felt good but you certainly don't miss doing it on a regular basis! Compared to hanging around alligators and snowy egrets? (even WITH the attitudes! HA!) and the rest of your full, fun life these days??!!
