today I managed to get ALL of the boxes out of the living room... that does NOT mean they are unpacked it just means I found other places to hide them.... while unpacking I continued to be amazed by how much paper it takes to protect my "treasures".... imagine needing two huge sheets of newsprint to wrap around one toilet plunger!... it still feels like Christmas when I unwrap the packed items... and sometimes I am thrilled to find an item and other times I cannot believe I kept it....
the guest room and the closet in my room are still filled with unpacked boxes..... oh, well
bought another plant today... I need "green" in my life... the bird feeders continue to entertain me and the cats.... cardinals, titmice, chickadees, blue jays, Carolina wrens, and one quick disappearing hummingbird
the thrill of the day was making dinner for John and Jess... they were having a "home improvement weekend" and happily accepted my invitation.... made a cold, chile-lime almond butter noodle pasta and it was delicious... I love cooking for others but have not had an audience for a long time... another reminder of why I am here..
forgot to tell you that I met one neighbor yesterday morning... a retired educator with two dogs named Elvis and Presley.... I am still processing that
the big news for me is that my sister, Trish, is coming home from Ecuador tomorrow!
I am heading for Greensboro, NC on Tuesday through Thursday to spend some time with my friend Bonnie....
I spend a lot of time wishing my friends were here to see/ share what is happening... but writing this blog is the next best thing!
