There was a BIG thunderstorm in Greensboro last night which resulted in a lost of power overnight AND 5 very scared Golden Retrievers who needed to be comforted!
Said goodbye to Bonnie this morning and headed back to Wilmington with a very successful stop at Trader Joes in Raleigh. Spent almost an hour there buying the "things" you just can't get anywhere else. Arrived back in Wilmington around 12:30 p.m. It is still very hot and humid here. I refilled my bird feeders (which took about 3 minutes) and was soaking wet when I came back inside. The cats did not seem to have noticed that I was gone for 2 days.
My mom and dad in Ohio finally have a land line phone number, Trish is back from Ecuador, and my niece, Hannah, won a trophy for her calf at the Ohio County Fair.... so family is all doing well.
Dave finishes at Lake Owego Camp on Saturday and will be back in NC sometime next week. I am looking forward to seeing him. (also looking forward to getting rid of the stuff I brought down here for his new apartment).
I WILL tackle my closet upstairs beginning tomorrow and maybe even finish over the weekend. I hope to at least get all of the clothes out of the wardrobe boxes and hung up. This is a very slow process... but I will not give up going to the beach in the morning to read my paper.
Had a good, long talk with Joanna today. I miss my NJ girlfriends a lot.
