After saying goodbye to John (who is in Oxford, England for 6 weeks at the World Nuclear University Summer Institute) I headed back to Suni Sands in Jupiter, FL to spend some more time with Ray and Yolande and to pack up my belongings. Hard to believe our year rental is over. We have fallen in love with the place and people in our community and are working to find a way to come back each summer. Meanwhile my house inspection in Wilmington, NC went well and it looks I'll be closing on my new home August 15. Here is a sampling of pictures I've taken in the 3 days I've been in FL...
grasshopper on front steps
baby turtle tracks....we walk the beach EARLY each morning hoping to find some baby loggerheads or leatherbacks who have just hatched and are headed for open ocean
there are literally HUNDREDS of turtle nests on the beach here and we find evidence of new nests during our walks each morning
when Ray, Yolande, and I aren't turtle watching we are walking their dogs (Mo and Simon)
which includes throwing the ball for Mo
this is Simon
this is Mo
found this ballyhoo on the beach, love the colors
and the incredible shadow
here is a rainbow pointing to a pot of gold... our home in Suni Sands
every morning starts with sunrise on the beach
A few days before I arrived in FL Ray and Yolande were witness to this amazing manatee spectacle!
