Merritt Island National Wildlife Reserve

I spent my morning along the Black Point Wildlife Drive  in Merritt Island NWR 

and enjoyed seeing some spectacular birds.

This is part of a group of over 100 birds,

 including roseate spoonbills, egrets, and white pelicans.

An Icy Day in NC

These pictures were all taken while I was sitting inside and watching the ice build up on the trees and the birds flock to the feeders.  One of the amazing parts was the dozens of red-winged blackbirds that landed in my yard under the feeders.
